Puppy Loving

I am constantly amazed at how quickly our little puppy, Luna, has been growing. I took her to the vet for her shots and she weighed 21 pounds. that is about twice the size she was when we picked her up. She is learning so much and behaves fairly well considering she is a pup. We still have to keep all important items up on surfaces that she cannot reach or store them away until she is no longer getting into everything. I've had people tell me that could take 3 years!

She loves her morning walks on the farm and always looks happy which makes me happy as well. You cannot see a happy frolicking puppy and not feel some level of calm and peaceful happiness yourself. She gets to go rabbit hunting with Russ and loves that as well. As she ages she will be trained more and more to flush and retrieve birds. It should be an adventure for all of us.

She has been meeting lots of other people and dogs. Thankfully we know plenty of folks with dogs that have all their shots and are good with other dogs. Luna seems to love everyone she meets. I was surprised to see that she shows such submissiveness to other dogs. I wonder if that will change when she gets older. We also took her for her first long hike last weekend when we had some company in town. We managed to go a total of four hours and that just about pooped her out. She slept the whole way home in the car and was even a bit subdued the next day. We will be taking her for regular, weekly, hikes now to get her used to being outdoors with us and on trails. It is a great way to get us outside more as well. Thank you Luna!
